Ecology Unit Reflection
We just finished yet another unit: ecology. This unit was very enjoyable because of its hands-on projects and because it was what I expected biology class to be like. We got to dissect many different creatures and learn all about them. I kind of wish that we got to do some more diverse creatures other than bugs and sea creatures and such. We made a phyla chart that showed different characteristics such as if the creature had a nervous system, circulatory system, digestive system, reproductive system, cephalization, segmentation, call layers, etc. I wish we got to learn about bigger animals like lions or bears or birds or something. Biology is about life but not necessarily animals so I understand why. Dissections are classic biology labs and are fascinating (but not very good-smelling). I really liked another part of this unit, where we got to research frogs and their ecology, like where they live, how they survive, etc. So overall I thought this unit was very good and I personally enjoyed it.
